By accessing or using Story Department, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Story Department provides screenplay translation services for Final Draft FDX files.

2. Eligibility

You must have authority to upload and process the screenplay content you submit to the platform.

3. Ownership

You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to your screenplay content. Story Department claims no ownership over your material.

4. Limited License

By uploading content, you grant Story Department a limited, non exclusive license to process your screenplay solely for the purpose of providing translation services.

5. Confidentiality

We treat uploaded screenplay content as confidential production material and process it accordingly.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the platform for unlawful, infringing, or harmful purposes.

7. Pricing and Billing

Story Department uses per project pricing. Current pricing is displayed at checkout before you confirm payment.

By completing checkout, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge the selected payment method for the amount shown, including any applicable taxes and fees.

8. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your use of checkout and payment methods may also be subject to Stripe terms and policies.

We do not store full card details. We retain transaction references and billing metadata for support, reconciliation, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

9. Failed, Pending, and Reversed Payments

If a payment fails, is canceled, is reversed, or remains unpaid, access to paid project features may be limited until payment is successfully completed.

We may suspend affected projects while payment status is unresolved.

10. Refunds

Refund requests are reviewed case by case. Approved refunds are issued through the original payment method where possible.

11. Disclaimer

While we strive for high fidelity translation, creative approval remains the responsibility of the user. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Story Department shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Story Department from claims arising from your uploaded content or misuse of the service.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable local law in the jurisdiction of operation unless otherwise agreed in writing.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
